I haven't blogged in some time! My apologies! Here is an update: my two little ones celebrated their second and fourth birthdays. We took a family road trip to the beach. We threw a party for my sis who just had her birthday. This past weekend my daughter had her very first beauty pageant.
Whenever I take on so many things I halfway ask myself are you crazy?! The answer is always yes and I always push through. Our first pageant experience was great! My daughter won the title of Miss Princess Nevada! I couldn't have been more proud of her. We went in with limited experience. I've only done one pageant (2nd Runner up Miss Teen Nevada) and that was quite some time ago. I attempted a quick style before we left the house but her curls did not stay. I didn't pack a curling iron and in my rush forgot the brush at home. We arrived and all of the moms were doing last minute styling and the air was tense. My daughter (who has no quiet voice setting) asked "Are the other moms going to do my hair too!?" it was a laughable moment for sure. I reassured her that she looked perfect and she went back to playing with two one year olds she befriended. We lined up to present her fun outfit, which was a Doc Mcstuffins shirt and pants with a pink and purple sparkling tutu I made two days before the pageant. While in line waiting to go one stage she advised me she had to go potty and could not wait! Luckily I wore flats and I ran her downstairs and we made it back in time to go on stage.

I was thrilled when it opened but couldn't fit it into our week. We stepped outside of our daily routine and found an amazing gem. Needless to say, our afternoon treat was delightful! Whenever I visit a new environment (with her), my main concerns are cleanliest and safety. Walking in to a smiling face is the cherry on top!
Background: My DD has never cried when I've dropped her at school or sitters. She's very independent in social environments. However, she hasn't been around kids outside of family in several months. I was worried her lack of interaction would leave me apologizing or refereeing within ten minutes. |
