Generally, my sis and I plan fun parties for our children. This year she decided to take a trip for her 2 & 4 year olds. That left me planning a birthday party for the big 2.
I started planning in January this year. My 14 year old niece chose the theme, Alice in Wonderland. I was torn between the Vintage Alice in Wonderland and a more colorful theme. Since I wanted to keep to a fun, toddler-esque tone, I chose a theme with ton of bright colors. Within a week, I ordered the Topsy Turvy theme decor and started researching the invitations. I used Michael's for additional touches, like the runner, doilies and tags pictured below.

![]() As you know, I took on the task of potty training my tot in February (21months). She declared she was ready, picked a potty and set of panties. Since the pageant, we continue to use the Elmo Travel Potty. Ours is padded and folds discretely into a drawstring bag. I also purchased the disposable Potty Toppers. These items are used for the public potty exception. Prior to leaving the house I take note of her liquid consumption and I make sure she uses the potty right before we leave. She is doing a superb job! She has not returned to diapers. She has had few accidents. We are able to maneuver throughout the day freely-which was my goal. We are following the Johnson & Johnson Baby lawsuits. Did you know J&J removed formaldehyde from the baby shampoo? Some argue that "chemophobia" was the cause.
As a Mama, I am creating the best environment for my tot. Whether it's called paranoia or "chemophobia" is unimportant. We are not going to purchase products that are harmful in any volume. Do you use Johnson & Johnson? |
