In March we celebrated a Batman Batgirl birthday party! Please forgive me for just now blogging about it in May. Better late than never! In my family we are usually late. I told my husband I was going to get him a shirt that says "Will most likely be late, because of who I am as a person." The party was a success! They had an amazing time and were surrounded my so many friend's and loved ones. We used Celebrate Kids for the first time this year through a Groupon special! They were fantastic! They arrived early, the bouncer was clean, and they set up the carnival games for us as well! We opted for the Spin for a Prize game, and the Skee Ball game. Both were a big hit at the party! Our cake was a custom order from Smith's! We use them every year and they haven't disappointed us yet! Next year I probably won't get black icing, that made for some interesting tongue colors! This year I really just enjoyed being present! I didn't stress about details, I didn't spread myself thin, and I took absolutely no pictures! I'm usually a photo fanatic but this year I was so busy enjoying that I just didn't take any. Luckily my sister, husband, and close friends took quite a few for us to scrapbook and look back on later. My favorite craft of the party were the goody bags we hand made! My daughter's dad was quite a big help in the execution of the goody bags. Here is a photo of the final product! To complete this craft I purchased black good bags from Michael's, printed out Batman logos from Google Images, Free handed a belt and cape, and used hot glue to attach them to the bags. Very inexpensive! Sophia's dad actually started to free hand the back drop for our Batman photo wall and then he got strep throat! So sad! My sister and best friend Brittney came to the rescue and finished it the morning of the party. My son has it hanging in his room now! Another inexpensive decorating tip that we used was to purchase scrapbook paper from Michael's! Normally about $20 it was on sale for half off! Making the entire book only ten dollars! This is what I used to decorate or sliding glass door, make a sign for the gifts table, and decorate our pantry door. We still have plenty left over so when I finally actually catch up on my scrap booking, I'm about 4 years behind, I can use this paper for their party! Incorporating Batgirl into the party was somewhat difficult! She is not as popular for party decor. Luckily through Amazon I did find Girl's Justice League themed items. We purchased the banner, and the goody bag kit from there. We also ordered Superhero bracelets from Amazon.
The companies we used were: Groupon Celebrate Kids Amazon Smiths Michael's Stay tuned for the blog post for my niece's Home inspired Birthday!
