![]() To say 'it gets hot in Las Vegas' would be an understatement. We are in the middle of an excessive heat warning - reaching 120 degrees (Fahrenheit) for days at a time. That being said, when we were chosen to receive the latest #influenstervoxbox - I could not be more excited! I'm always looking for a pleasant way to increase my water intake. In my house, we buy several types of water options- bottles for travel and workouts, individual gallons for my husband and a three gallon purified container to cook. It's safe to say, when it comes to water, I've got an opinion. The PUR Ultimate water filtration system is an 11 cup pitcher that fits into my refrigerator with ease. It removes 95% of Mercury and reduces Chlorine. These are key points that we look for in a filtration system; in addition to, how often it must be replaced. I have so many things to keep track, so when I noticed this pitcher has a filter change light - I was sold. Yes, the water tastes great, but the light is key. Hats off to the team that made this possible. We received this pitcher complimentary from #Influenster and my family gives it two thumbs up! Here are some benefits* to the PUR Ultimate Water Filtration System:
*Based on multiple uses: cooking, coffee, tea, ice cubes, refillable water bottles We, like most Moms, are constantly saying - eat your vegetables, don't be mean and drink more water. This system makes the pickiest of our kids, drink more; which is all I can ask. Eco-difference: products can be recycled, go to: www. purwater.com/recycle to learn more. School is out and the kids are ready for some summer fun. Personally, I have enjoyed every second of my time at home with my daughter and as a result, I’ve discovered one of her favorite times of day is snack time. Snack time can be an easy time for most parents because we usually hand our little ones a pre-package bagged or boxed item. To be clear, I am not against store bought snacks (seriously Trader Joe’s has some of my daughter’s favorites) but I have time off during summer and I wanted to become more hands-on in my daughter's snack choice.
Instead of giving my daughter store bought processed snacks, I have chosen a healthier route by making her snacks. Pinterest is my go-to for finding unique snack ideas, but I also take into consideration what my little one likes to eat and create healthier alternatives for particular foods. For example, my daughter is big fan of frozen treats so I found different ways to take advantage of this, while sneaking some extra fruit into her diet. She is eating a healthy homemade snack option that both satisfies her taste buds and helps me provide essential vitamins and nutrients for my baby girl. My goal for the summer is to encourage my daughter to eat more fruits and vegetables, so I want to share eight snack recipes that are enjoyable and healthy for our little ones to eat. 1. Peanut Butter and Apples: This classic snack can be jazzed up by adding raisins and/or granola. 2. Fruit Kabobs: You can mix and match your child’s favorite fruits with this simple snack 3. Grilled Cheese Roll Ups: Revamp the regular grill cheese sandwich for a fun roll up. 4. Carrots and Celery: A simple but healthy snack, you could even add a dipping sauce of the side. 5. Frozen Banana Pops: This snack is a good alternative for popsicles. You can dip your banana bites in dark chocolate to add a little sweetness. 6. Celery with Peanut Butter and Raisins: An after-school favorite “Ants on a Log” can be a fun snack to make with your children. 7. Cheese and Crackers: Another simple snack but a healthier option instead of a Lunchable. 8. Frozen Yogurt Dots: This is a great snack to beat the heat and fun for kids to help make and eat. Please enjoy and share these amazing snacks and don’t forget to follow my Pinterest Board for more ideas. XoXo, Bee
Hello, I’m Bee, a twenty six year-old mother of one and wife. I created Beesosimple.com to share my journey through motherhood and life. I'm an avid Netflix watcher and self proclaimed foodie, who enjoys cherishing the simple moments in life.
Between extracurricular activities, work, sports, and play dates the role of mom can be both the most rewarding and demanding job in the world. So figuring out what’s for dinner should be quick and stress free for a change. I have teamed up with the beautiful sisters, Mia and Sante, from Leave It To Mama for a fun summer series featuring mom-friendly recipes and family time ideas the little ones will love. For this installment, we wanted to feature a recipe that was healthier, simple to prepare, and something all of our kids could enjoy. After collectively brainstorming through our mental recipe books, a taco bar seemed like the perfect idea. In my household, we kept it pretty basic: ground turkey burger, shredded cheese and carrots, romaine lettuce, sautéed corn, and soft shell tortillas laid out assembly line style for easy taco creation. The nice thing is - I only have to cook the turkey burger and corn while still providing a filling whole foods meal in the end. Lately my daughter has been on the picky side with her choices in food, so this was a good way to give her a variety of options to pick from. I’m able to have the meal ready in about 30 minutes, which works well with my busy schedule and my husband’s never-ending hunger. Taco bar will definitely stay in my personal go-to recipe book and I can’t wait to try different ingredients and table settings. XoXo, Bee Check out our kid-friendly recipes board on Pinterest: |
